About Me

My care philosophy is based on a person-centered approach to therapy. I understand each person has a unique experience, and needs uniquely-tailored services to support healing and growth toward their ideal selves. My role is to provide an affirming, safe, and honest space in which people can explore their thoughts, feelings, and actions, and build skills to overcome challenges and achieve goals in new ways.

I completed my Master of Arts in Counseling degree in 2012, and have been practicing therapy for the past 7 years. Prior to starting private practice, I worked for an agency with a focus on trauma recovery, providing individual, family, and group therapy for survivors of intimate partner violence and human trafficking. I am a currently licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, CA Lic # LMFT 103350.

Social justice advocacy is very important to me, and I work to uphold values of inclusivity and accessibility in my professional and personal life.  I advocate for changing systemic and social biases that negatively impact people's health and well being, including better access to mental health services and ending stigma against mental illness.

When I am not wearing my therapist hat, I am often spending time enjoying the company of my pets, getting lost in a good movie or book, singing karaoke, playing trivia games, or going on a little adventure to step out of my comfort zone. Sometimes, I do several of these things at once, often to the annoyance of my aforementioned pets.
